Twitter for Mac (formerly Tweetie) got its first update since the desktop software launched last January.
The update features a design update and some adjustments to the user interface. These tweaks are minor, but make the app now feel more polished and more finished overall.
The biggest improvement is the ability to view multiple timelines at once and open more than one window in the client. Navigating back through timelines is now easier due to a bar at the top of each window, and there’s a separate “New Tweet” button in the bottom left corner of the app.
Twitter has also updated the design of Direct Messages and user profiles, making it easier to view both features. For the search function, the official Twitter blog notes that it now contains username and hashtag auto-complete.
This update is available (and free) in the Mac App Store.
