When people stare at monitor screen, they don’t see the whole screen. Research has shown that most website user have common behavior of landing their first sight at the top left corner of the screen. Of course, at first, people will scan the whole screen and stop at whatever attract their attention, but top left corner always get special attention.

The top left become more popular each day, but not for the right hand side, especially the lower part. People’s pattern of reading web page is like the letter “F”. They always start from top left corner, then either they move their sight to the right, or sliding through the left side to the bottom. Just like this picture:

So it will be best if we follow this behavior pattern in designing our page layout. Put important thing such as logo or navigation bar where a lot of eye stop and stare. Put the less important in the bottom right.
