Hi all. There is this really cool thing in illustrator called live trace. From this we could built a bacteria kinda living thing from nothing. So here we go. Step01: Make a perfect rectangle using a rectangle tool (M), and use a radial gradient to fill it, choose the color from the swatches, I used the R=0 G=104 b =55 and for the center I used R=140 G=198 B=63. Step02: Make a new layer on top of it, use any color you want. go to effect>texture>stained glass. Change the cell size into 35 border thickness into 5 and light intensity into 10. Step03: This is how it should look like now. go to object>expand appearance, then go to object> live trace>make and expand. Ungroup it.And this is the result. Step04: Select the black area, recolor it into white. Then select the rest of the other area (not the one you just recolor) and delete it. This is how it should look like now. Step05: Go to pucker tool in the tool box, click it twice, and set the width and height into 40pt angle into 60 and the intensity into 30%. Activate the white area, and start puckering Step06: Now [...]

Hello, let’s make a bridge in illustrator CS4. It was easy and basically just need a lot copy and paste though. So, let’s get started. Step 01: Make a rectangle path using marquee tool (M) Step 02: then using ellipse tool (L) make a big circle in the middle of it, then reposition it, until it looks like the image. Step 03: Activate both of them, select pathfinder (window>pathfinder or shift+ctrl+F9), click minus front. Step 04: copy and paste in front (ctrl+c then ctrl+f) the shape, then resize and recolor it, until it look like the image. Step 05: select direct selection tool (A) than click the smaller path then tweak the point, until it look like there are some dimension in it. Step 06: Then right click>arrange > send to back (ctrl+shift+[). Now the basic of the bridge is done. Step 07: next one is the stone, select the rounded rectangle tool... just guess the size so it would fit your bridge. Remember don’t use stroke. Step 08: now activate the stone and select effect>stylize>drop shadow. Make the opacity 70%, x offset and y offset both into 2, don’t forget to activate preview to see does it look good [...]

Hello, this is the tutorial using opacity mask, like the title said. Using this mask, you could have a more complicated mask , and I think this is an awesome trick to learn. Let’s get it done then…. Step01: Make box using rectangle tool(M), then go to window>swatch library>gradients>sky. Fill it without any stroke. And we just made our base color. Step02: Next, go to window>symbol>grime vector pack. Select symbol sprayer tool (shift+S) and then spray it once. Step03: Select the sprayed item, go to object>expand. Click ok. And then recolor it into white. Drag it into the symbol box(shift+ctrl+F11).Name it anything you want. Step04: Now back to our base color. Go to transparency box (shift+ctrl+F10). Click the drop down icon, select make opacity mask. It should look like this now. Step05: Activate the black one, select symbol sprayer tool (shift+S), and choose the one we just made. Spray it a couple of times. You could get a variation using other symbol tool. Step06: Then go to object>expand, then click break link in the group box. Step07: Select twirl tool in the tool box. Start twirl it, until you like the result. This is how mine’s look like. I know [...]

Hi all, you know matrix right?? The green color , the falling letter, shiny and everything. Now we want to make one in Adobe Illustrator CS4. In this tutorial I am gonna use the “Omeoo” name though. So let’s get it done, then. Step01 Type your text, in here I used Franklin Gothic Heavy 120 pt, set the tracking into 75. If you can’t find the tracking, it’s in window>type>character (ctrl+t) Step02 Make it have no fill color and stroke, then go to appearance box, select the dropdown menu>add new fill. Make it green Step03 Now go to effect>blur>Gaussian blur. And make the Radius 1.5 pixels. Click ok. Step04 And then make another fill, select the dropdown menu>add new fill. Make it green (the same color as step02). Step05 Select the new fill and go to effects >distort>ocean ripple. Change the ripple size into 2 and ripple magnitude into 10. Click ok. Step06 This is how it should look like. Select the whole type, and go to effects>sketch water paper. Change the fiber into 5, brightness into 65, and contrast into 85. Click ok.
